Dr. Gerald Burke
Dr. Burke has served the state of New Mexico in many capacities, including higher education, for many years. His active participation on statewide, community and civic organizations has made a positive impact on New Mexico .

His commitment to the belief that all New Mexicans should have access to higher education is evident in his role as Chair of the statewide GO Bond campaign. He, over many years bond cycles, has worked tirelessly in promoting the need for improved facilities that provide an atmosphere conducive to learning.

He served on the State’s Commission of Higher Education providing leadership, experience and insight. He has worked with, and continues to work with the New Mexico Legislature where he has served as the educational representative for NMSU, and as a consultant on many educational issues to all legislators, legislative committees, cabinet members and governors.

He has given his time and experience by serving on the Public School Capital Outlay Sub-Committee, the CHE Blue Ribbon Task Force on Higher Education Formula Funding, the Statewide GO Bond Election Campaign Committee, the NMSU Labor Union Board and as an advisor to the newly formed New Mexico Higher Education Department Advisor on capital outlay recommendations.
