Don Chalmers

Don Chalmers received a Hero of the Planet award from Ford Motor Company recognizing his social and community service. He is a member of the Ford Motor Company President’s Circle. He was one of the top five finalists out of 64 dealers for the 2003 TIME Magazine Quality Dealer award. His dealership was awarded the 2005 New Mexico Quality Zia Award. And, in 2002, Don Chalmers was awarded the USA Today Dealer Innovation Award for Technology for service communication with customers.

Don was named in 2001 as the Outstanding Community Champion by United Way of Central New Mexico for his leadership during the campaign and influencing other organizations in the community to participate. And, in 2002, Don received the Leader in Philanthropy award given by the NM Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He implemented a volunteer program at his dealership encouraging each employee to give 40 hours a year of community service

Don’s current community service includes serving on the UNM Board of Regents, the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation and St. Joseph Community Health Services, the Better Business Bureau board, the Quality New Mexico Board, Economic Forum, the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Central New Mexico, Albuquerque Community Foundation among many, many others.
