Gerald Mora
Mr. Gerald Mora has been the lead for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AERL) at Kirtland Air Force Base(KAFB) Technology Transfer for Education (TTE) Program since 1994. Under his guidance, the TTE team consistently provides quality projects to New Mexico schools that bring positive attention to the AFRL. In 1997, his team received the highest Air Force award in Tech Transfer, the General Ronald W. Yates Award, and was recently selected to receive the 2001 Federal Laboratory Consortium Excellence in Technology Transfer Award.
The AFRL at KAFB TTE Program has grown to 6 projects that currently involve 140 schools (K-12) and have had over 49,000 students participate to date throughout New Mexico. 62 of the schools involved in the AFRL at KAFB TTE Program are from rural communities. Mr. Gerald Mora is the driving force behind its success.
In addition, Gerald was involved with the implementation of the first EPA within the Department of Defense (DOD) to donate computers to schools. This EPA turns excess AFRL computers over to NM Technet where they are refurbished and sent out to New Mexico schools in need of computer equipment. Over $5M in computer hardware has been provided to date.
