Doris Rhodes
Doris Rhodes has provided a great deal of commitment to the public service. She served as Corporate Recruitment Chair for the New Mexico Juvenile Diabetes Foundation Walk, raising more than $140,000 for diabetes research, and eventually became nominated to the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Chapter of JDF.
At the University of New Mexico, Doris was able to secure a three-million dollar grant for the Anderson Schools of Management, the UNM General Libraries, and the School of Engineering, the largest corporate gift ever received by the university. She currently serves on the Anderson Schools of Management National Advisory Board and has led committees to raise funds for UNM programs such as the General Libraries and the Basketball program. She has also served on committees to support TV-I Bond Issues and the TV-I Workforce Training Center.
In 1996, Doris helped found Leadership New Mexico, a community program that promotes leadership education and awareness, serving on the Board of Directors as vice-chairman in 1996 and chairman in 1997 and 1998.
Mr. Bingham served for over ten years on the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, including serving on the national board, and two terms as a director with the Rio Grande Underground Contractors Association, New Mexico's Workforce Development Board and, a member of the City of Albuquerque's Personnel Board.
Doris has been active in the United Way since 1995, as a member of the Community Planning and Resource Development Committee, the Agency Advisory Committee, and served as Division Chair for Attorneys in the 1996 United Way Campaign Cabinet.
In 1995, she joined the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science Board of Directors, where she currently serves as President of the Board of Directors and member of the Board of Trustees. She is also a board member for ACCION New Mexico and the Albuquerque Little Theater among others.
