Michael Martin Murphey to Receive First Ever Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Public Service
Michael Martin Murphey, a Taos resident famous nationwide as a top western singer-songwriter, is being recognized for much more than his musical talent.
As part of the 2000 New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Awards, Murphey was presented the first ever Albert H. Rosenthal Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Public Service. Governor Gary Johnson presented the award to Murphey in a ceremony held at the Round House in Santa Fe on April 20, 2000 at 2:30pm.
