George A. Garcia
George A. Garcia, an Albuquerque Police Officer, has dedicated years of public service to New Mexico. Currently a part of the Foothills Area Command, he recently received a letter of commendation from APD Chief Galvin for his superior abilities.
Officer Garcia has been a proud participant in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central New Mexico program. He was featured in an ad campaign along with his "little" and is continuously active in program events.
While working as a tribal police officer for the Isleta Police Department, George was honored as Officer of the Year and was recognized for his involvement in several programs, including Pounders, DARE, and for his efforts with the Pueblo's rehabilitation center for alcohol abuse. He was also honored with the Jefferson Award for public service. He has been a verbal leader through counseling recovering alcoholics, and working on community food and gift drives, and working in classrooms as part of Pounders, DARE, and the Junior Achievement program.
